An anniversary, a birthday and a teenager

Yesterday was Anson and I's 14th wedding anniversary.
It seems like yesterday, but also, ages ago.
I first met Anson 22 years ago when I was only
12 years old. It wasn't until 2 years after that, that I
first had a crush on him when I saw him at a family
reunion in Humptulips, WA. I asked my sister, Jeanette, who
he was and she told me that his name was Anson and that
she thought he had a twin brother, which ended up
not being true. Anyway, Anson
started walking our way and he looked at me
and I him and after he passed, I turned to Jeanette
and said, "He's mine".

2 years later in Bancroft Idaho sparks flew.
Later that summer he came up from Portland
to visit me in Bothell. We lost contact after that. A year
later my step dad got a job transfer to Portland.
We moved down there and we went to visit
some family and I saw Anson briefly. He soon
left on a mission to Houston, Texas
and still we had no contact. 2 years passed
and I came home from work one day and my mom
told me that I got a phone call that day from Anson.
It was so weird. I immediately blurted,
"Maybe he wants to marry me!"

I called him back and we talked for a
little while and then he asked me if I wanted
to go camping that weekend with his family.
I said yes, but because of the job that I had at the time
I wasn't able to leave until really late at night.
Anson gave me directions to his house
and I got SO LOST! I was driving around
for a little while, when I miraculously found it.
It was SO WEIRD to see him again. He was cute still,
but his hair was very short.

Anyway, we got reacquainted that weekend
and had really great talks. One in particular
stands out in my mind. We were sitting on a table over looking the
ocean as the sun was setting and we talked about our Patriarchal
blessings and they seemed to fit together like
puzzle pieces. It was the coolest thing.

We were inseparable after that and
less then a month later we were engaged. We were
married a little over three months later in the
Portland, Oregon Temple.

That is when my life began. I was such a
different person then. I have changed and have grown so much
that it seems like a different lifetime.

I wanted to become a mom so badly. After three months
of marriage, I finally talked Anson into it.
Nine months later, on our 1st wedding anniversary
Anson Jr. was born.

He was such a beautiful baby. We could tell that he loved
music very early on, even before he could walk.
I would play Nirvana and Anson Jr. would
crawl up to the speaker and dance.
When he was about 2 years old,
he would also take out all the pots,
pans, and canned foods from the cupboards
and then use them as drums.
Anson Jr. turned 13 years old yesterday.
Here's a look back on the years, then and now.

I got tired, so I'll finish the blog post later.

Dazzled by Twlight in Forks, Washington

Sunday morning we woke up and decided to go visit our friends who have a store over in Forks, Washington. The store is called, "Dazzled by Twilight" and it's a really cool store with LOTS of twilight merchandise. They have t-shirts, hoodies, posters, bumper stickers, tote bags, jewelry, life size cut outs of the twilight cast, and more! They have the biggest and best selection out of any store in Forks. We went to a couple of other stores around town and they pretty much sucked. SO, if you go to Forks, go to "Dazzled by Twilight" and tell 'em I sent ya! :)

Here is Anson Jr. as Bella Swan.

"Bella's truck" was parked outside the Forks Chamber of Commerce.

Before we left, we headed to La Push's First Beach, where parts of the movie was filmed.
It was BEAUTIFUL!

The Olympic National Forest

We woke up this morning and somehow decided to go to Forks, Washington. None of us have school Monday and we've been wanting to go visit our friends who have a store up there full of Twilight everything! It's a beautiful store!

It took about 5 hours to get there including potty breaks, stopping for gas and for lunch.

On the way, we stopped along the side of the road because the boys had "go" really bad. It was an amazing photo opportunity as the sun was setting and shining through the forest. I believe this area is part of the Olympic National Forest.

Winter Quarter 09

The winter quarter started last Monday and it seems like SO much work is given in that first week that it's overwhelming. I'm sure it's just me though. I'm taking 14 credits this quarter and have class Monday-Friday.

I have:

Drawing II MW
Typography TTH
2 Dimensional Design TTH
Adobe Illustrator F

My drawing teacher is the same one I had last quarter. He told me that I was the most accurate student he had last quarter which is cool, but I started out a little rough last week. I guess I will have to work harder to get that "title" again. I did an assignment in the fall he said that I should enter it into the college's art publication book that they do every year, so I took a picture of it and will turn the application in tomorrow. He said that they don't typically choose Drawing I students, so to not get my hopes up. It's an 18x24 negative space drawing that I did in a black permanent marker.

I'm not sure what to think about my typography class yet....

My 2 dimensional design class has been okay. There are some creative people out there. I feel a little out of place in that class, like my work isn't as good as theirs but I look forward to the projects she assigns. I will definitely learn something in there.

My Illustrator class will be helpful. I have a HUGE problem with the guy that sits next to me though. He sat next to me in my Photoshop class and he's a "know-it-all", so he always has to put his two sense in and "co-teach". His voice annoys me, his laugh annoys me and his smell REALLY annoys me. 3 hours of that class with this guy!!! AAHHH!

Death of a Snowball.

It's somewhere around 4 am and I can't sleep, so here I am. The other day Ashton's hamster that he named, Snowball Snowy Snow died unexpectedly. He was sad and cried and asked for another pet right away. What happened to the mourning period? He also asked, "Mom, since my hamster died, can I stay up late tonight?" He likes to milk things.
